Emergency Assistance

Emergency assistance is available to qualifying Denver County residents only.  If you live outside of Denver County, you do not qualify for this emergency assistance. Please contact 211 for services in your county. If you are in need of locating housing or shelter, please contact 211 or visit findhelp.org. Housing and shelter assistance is not provided by this emergency assistance program.

Apply for Emergency Assistance

If you are a DHS employee, please do not fill out the online form. Instead, review the information below to learn how to apply:

I am a Denver Human Services employee. How can I apply for Emergency Housing Assistance?

If you are an employee of Denver Human Services, please do not use the online form to apply for the Emergency Housing Assistance program (which includes rental, mortgage and energy assistance). This is for in-house confidentiality and privacy purposes.

Instead, you should request support by completing and submitting the fillable application at the link below:

When you are finished, send an email to employeeapplication@denvergov.org. In that email, attach your completed application along with all required verifications.

Language Access

It is your right to access oral or written language assistance, sign language interpretation, real-time captioning via CART, or disability-related accommodations. To request any of these services at no cost to you, please email DHSADASupport@denvergov.org with three business days’ notice.

How to Submit your Application

These steps are only for those who are downloading the emergency assistance application. If you are using the online form, you don't have to take these steps.

 

Once you have completed the application and have collected all required documents, call 720-944-1520 and a member of our document runner team will come and pick up your application packet.

 

You may also drop off your complete application at a DHS location, or mail it to:

Due to high volume, it may take 45-60 days for our team to process your application.
